Withdrawal is defined as dropping all scheduled courses for the current semester or session. The process of official withdrawal from the University will also cause a cancellation of any future semester scheduled courses.

Deadline: A withdrawal can be processed through the last day of classes (before the final exam period begins).

Don't confuse Withdrawal with:

• Dropping Courses - dropping SOME but not all of your currently enrolled courses.
• Leave of Absence - finishing this semester, not returning the next semester (other than summer) and returning to Penn State at a specified future semester.
• Not Returning Next Semester - finishing this semester with no definite plans to return to Penn State.
