Late Course Drop | Help

The Late Drop application will help you decide whether or not to late drop a course and will allow you to process a late course drop. (Note: This application is available for undergraduate students only.)

Caution!

Stop! Important! Read this before continuing.

Do not assume that you have late dropped a course through eLion until you have:

- viewed the on-screen message confirming that the late drop was processed,
- checked your updated schedule on eLion, and
- received an e-mail message that the late drop has been processed. (Be sure to keep the e-mail for your records!)

If you plan to late drop a course through eLion today, you must complete the process between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., Eastern Time, except for the last day of late drop when the transaction must be completed by 11:59 p.m., Eastern Time.

If you cannot verify that a late course drop was processed, then you are still enrolled in the course and are responsible for completing that course.

If you experience any technical difficulties while using the late drop module (including the inability to verify that a late drop has been processed), return to this page and contact the eLion Team. Please provide as much detail as possible about the problem. Thank you.

Late course drop is defined as dropping one or more (but not all) courses from a semester schedule after the tenth day through the twelfth week of a fifteen-week semester or the equivalent percentage of time for courses offered on a different timetable. Courses offered for less than fifteen weeks of instruction have different late drop deadlines. Information regarding the late drop deadline for these courses is available using the Course Drop Dates application on eLion or by contacting the Registrar's office.

This interactive advising session simulates a one-on-one conversation with an academic adviser. eLion will access your academic records and ask you some key questions. eLion will then use this information to advise you about the outcomes of late dropping a particular course as well as about some alternatives to late drop. If you decide that late dropping a course is the best action to take, you will be permitted to process the late course drop directly through eLion. Under some circumstances, you will be strongly encouraged to consult with another academic adviser before making your decision.

You can late drop only one course at a time through eLion. If you are considering late dropping more than one course, consult with an academic adviser.
